Another month has passed. We’re tracking our portfolios built using AVI strategies

First, the older strategies. These are three portfolios that were launched 14 months ago on October 22, 2024 - the INDIGO, GREEN, and YELLOW strategies. Here are screenshots of the IB accounts where we implemented the picks of these strategies:

The table shows the results of these strategies over 14 months: As we can see, two strategies significantly outperformed the market index, while one (YELLOW) lagged slightly. If an investor held - as we did - all three portfolios corresponding to the three strategies, they would be outperforming the market by 8.72% as of today, 14 months after the start of the investment. However, we can’t draw any far-reaching conclusions from this yet; 14 months is too short a time frame for a long-term investor. At least 3-5 years! Let’s wait and see. We still have plenty of time ahead of us!

New strategies

Without drawing any conclusions at all, let’s take a look at the results of two months of investing across 4 new strategies, for which we launched portfolios on October 22 of this year. These include 2 new strategies from which we expect growth: POWER and EMERALD.

Here, one strategy outperformed the market, while the other fell significantly behind. As a reminder, the POWER strategy launched 2 months ago, replacing the ORANGE strategy. Therefore, it did not start with $15 thousand, like the other new strategies, but with the amount you see in the table but do not see in the screenshot: since for IB this is still the same account, it tracks the chart from the very beginning - October 22, 2024. And everything looks great there: a 48% profit over 14 months.

But we did slightly tweak the strategy’s parameters 2 months ago; it has essentially become a different strategy. We renamed it POWER, and we have to count honestly: not 14 months, but only 2 months with this new strategy; not a 48% profit, but only 7.4%; and not over 14 months, but only over 2 months of investing.

Another new strategy - STABILITY - was created not to impress with high growth, but to demonstrate lower volatility. That said, no one would object if it also outperformed the market. But so far, it hasn’t been very successful:

And the last - the seventh - strategy was also not designed to deliver outstanding asset growth. It aims to generate a consistently high dividend stream. Here’s how it performed over 2 months: As we can see, assets have declined. However, the average annual dividend under this strategy consistently exceeds 3% of the investor’s assets. Those who need a steady cash flow - such as retirees - may find this strategy appealing.
